Three-Time Indy 500 Winner Bobby Unser Dies At 87

Winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 1968, 1975 and 1981, Bobby Unser passed away May 2nd at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

A member of racing’s famous Unser family and the Motorsports Hall of Fame, Bobby Unser was known for his forceful, dynamic, crowd-pleasing style. In addition to winning the Indy 500 three times and the Indycar National Championship, he won 35 Indycar races, the 1975 International Race of Champions (IROC) and 11 Pikes Peak Hill Climb victories, more than anyone else in history. A winner in Sprint cars and Midgets, Bobby also successfully competed in NASCAR, Formula One and international sports cars racing.
