Sportscar Vintage Racing Association President & CEO Tony Parella has announced the appointment of Alex K. Miller to the position of Technical Administrator for the organization effective February 1, 2014. Parella had the following comments on Miller’s appointment, “I’m proud to welcome Alex to the SVRA team. His extensive experience and the respect he has within in the racing community will make him an invaluable member of our team as we move forward.”
Parella indicated that Miller’s primary responsibility will be working with SVRA Technical Director, Roger Linton, on the implementation of SVRA’s Gold Medallion program, as well responding to routine inquiries on the organization’s competition rules and regulations. Alex will also assist Competition Director Ray Snowdon in race operations during event weekends.
Miller comes to his position with over 40 years of experience as a competitor in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Regional and National Events. During this time he won 9 Divisional Championships in the hotly contested Northeast Division and finished in the top six on seven different occasions at the SCCA’s National Championship Runoffs. Alex served on the SCCA National Board of Directors for 9 years, and was Vice Chairman under Carl Haas. He has been an active competitor in SVRA events since 2005 and has extensive experience as an instructor for the Washington DC region SCCA and Ferrari clubs.
Alex and wife, Edwena, reside in Fleetwood, PA.
