The SVRA flags are flying at half mast today, with the news that West Clapp, lost his long courageous battle with cancer. West was key member of the SVRA team for decades, and a friend and asset to all vintage racers. He epitomized the selfless dedication of the many people who work behind the scenes performing the tasks necessary to put on a successful vintage race and event. In 2014 West was inducted Into the SVRA Hall of Fame. Known as “The Grid Master” he worked with many racing organizations, including Bobby Rahal’s Legends of Motorsports, HSR, SCCA and SVRA. He was known to be fair but tough when he need to be, and always offered a firm handshake. He will be missed by his family, friends, coworkers, and vintage racers.
Updates on services will be posted when arrangements are finalized.
