DOP / TOP Information

The DOP and TOP Programs will run on Thursday ‘Test Day’ at each eligible event. Please review the event schedule for meeting times and locations.

Driver Orientation program guidelines SVRA 2026

The SVRA licensing director will determine candidates for this program, as they apply for license. 

Who can apply?

  • Only drivers applying for a regular full competition license may attend this exercise.
  • A driver must have attended an accredited driving school, first before this program.
  • The school logbook is required for documentation for their attendance.
  • Appropriate school instructor signs off, passing grades are required.

School requirements:

  • Practice starts must be included in the school program
  • Two Practice races must be included in the program
  • Drivers must surrender this log to the SVRA instructor before the class begins.

At track expectations:

  • Attendance is required at the Thursday morning meeting. Refer to the respective event schedule for time.
  • Classroom session/s will be scheduled.
  • Be sure to have you and your car fully ready to drive before this meeting.

It is the intent of the SVRA for all competitors to have a safe enjoyable weekend, free from incidents. Good clean driving is our goal, take the car home the way it arrived here!

Track Orientation Program Guidelines SVRA 2026

The Track Orientation (TOP) portion of the program is designed for already experienced intermediate and advanced competitors before they participate at a particular SVRA race venue.

Already experienced drivers, these are drivers have:

  • Some experience but have not raced for 3 years or more.
  • They must have been licensed by a recognized racing organization.

TOP Participants that are not currently licensed must apply for their “Welcome Back Rookie License” before entering the event and TOP. You may do so here: msreg.com/license

Attendance, required at the scheduled Thursday orientation meeting with the SVRA instructor.

  • The instructor will observe the on-track sessions.
  • A second meeting will be held, to review your behavior and driving skills.
