2017 Amelia Island Vintage Gran Prix – Additional Info

SVRA is hosting the 2nd Annual Amelia Island Vintage Grand Prix March 16-19, 2017 at the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport.  This year’s event builds on what was learned last year in bringing Vintage Racing to Amelia Island.  The event will include a wide array of Vintage Motorcycles, a new location for Registration, a new Paddock entrance and a redesigned Paddock to facilitate our growing entries and spectator crowd.  Please review the following for event information to help you arrive well prepared.

Pre-Event Items

Licensing
The National event is open to competitors that hold current competition licenses or driving privileges from VMC recognized vintage racing organization. Drivers may enter with a Temporary license issued by VMC recognized vintage organization, but the driver will need to enter the Driver Orientation Program on Thursday.  Make sure you have your Licenses, I.D. and any other documents that you need to submit with you when you go to Registration. If you forget or misplaced your documents, it is the participant’s responsibility to contact their home organization for proper documentation if needed. If you have questions, contact Alex Miller (alex@svra.com) SVRA National Licensing Director.

Schedule
This schedule is a working model and may change. The order of Run Groups and scheduled times will be updated as needed. SVRA reserves the right to change/modify this schedule without notice but will make every effort to firm up the schedule as soon as possible.

Load-In
If you will be arriving prior to Wednesday, early staging will be allowed starting at noon on Monday March 13th in an area just next to Registration.  You will not be able to stay overnight in this location, but you can drop your rig off there. Once registration opens, you may need to go back out Bailey Road to do a turn around and come back in to the paddock (the turn from Registration to the paddock access road is very tight).  We will not be using the runway crossing for paddock access unless it is an emergency. If you arrive before March 13th, space may be available at the Motostalgia area of the Concours d’Elegance by reserving a spot through motostalgia.com.

It is planned that Initial Load-In will begin on Wednesday, March 15th at 1:00pm and run until approximately 6:00pm. Please proceed to Registration first for Credentials. Registration and load-in on Thursday will be from 7am-5pm.

Registration
Located at the northwest end of the Fernandina Beach Municipal Airport, just south of Amelia Island Parkway, off Bailey Road. Participants and crews will be able to stage vehicles on the right side of Airport Road across from Registration, go register and then enter the track for Load-In. Registration will open at 1pm on Wednesday, March 15th.

Hauler/Rig Parking

Please note that parking for personal vehicles will be in a marked area next to the tree line. Personal Vehicles will not be allowed to park in your paddock space. The personal parking area is immediately adjacent the competition paddock.

RV and Toter Parking
Officially, overnight camping is not allowed in the paddock per Fernandina Beach City Ordinance. The city does recognize that drivers and crew may be in their paddock locations overnight due to the need to work on cars. If you have an RV/Toter, etc., let Registration know and you will be given a card to put in your windshield any nights you are in the RV overnight. Emergency Services needs to know which RV’s are occupied in case of an emergency in the paddock.
