2018 Sebring Vintage Classic
The Sebring Vintage Classic serves as a season opener for many vintage racers who seek respite from the snow and cold. In 1976 Sebring Intl. Raceway was the site of the vintage race that laid the groundwork for the founding of SVRA and continues to be a gathering place for great vintage race cars, good friends, parties, and wonderful endurance and class racing. Cars rich in racing history populates the paddock and track.
The Spring Vintage Classic starts with a test day option on Thursday, March 1 with Sprint Series races starting Friday for all vintage groups. Invited race groups include the International GT Series and Trans Am Series. Saturday opens with a Hagerty Show and Shine Car Show. SVRA’s Saturday evening dinner at the Chateau Elan, will include an entertaining “conversation” withthe event Grand Marshal, who will soon be announced.
This post WWII the training airbase was converted into a road racing course and has been a bastion for endurance racing in North America. The 3.74 mile road course is made up of asphalt and concrete and offers 17 turns. The Sebring Vintage Classic is an open sound weekend.
