Agreement Strengthens SVRA Relationship With NASCAR Legend Ray Evernham
The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) today announced that JRi Shocks is now the official shock absorber of SVRA. The company was recently acquired by NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief and SVRA competitor Ray Evernham.
“Bringing JRi on board with us is extra special not just because they are a great, well-established company, but also it’s another opportunity to work with Ray,” said SVRA CEO Tony Parella. “He is a car set-up genius and is an expert in damper technology. We want to be a part of his progress as he takes JRi to new heights of success.”
Founded in 2007 by Evernham’s partner in the company, Jeff Ryan, JRi Shocks has enjoyed tremendous success in the racing and automotive aftermarket industries. The company has earned several U.S. Patents for its technology and offers shock solutions for a broad range of markets, including Road Racing, Short Track Racing, Drag Racing, Off-Road, Powersports, Motorcycles, and Street Performance.
“My personal involvement with Tony has enabled me to witness the unprecedented growth of SVRA first hand. They have redefined vintage racing and, as soon as we completed the acquisition of JRi, I knew the SVRA was a ripe market to target with our high performance shocks,” Evernham said. “From our professional racing shocks to our street performance, motorcycle and off-road product lines, we can serve SVRA members while they are at-track and at home. Overall, this partnership carries a lot of weight and is a great brand association as we look to grow JRi.”
Evernham and his team plan for significant activation of their SVRA relationship. They will be at the upcoming PRI trade show and expect to have a presence at a number of the SVRA race weekends. They also expect to announce discounts to SVRA members and enlist the organization’s network of prep shops as dealerships. The business relationship will extend well beyond the track as most SVRA car owners have performance street cars, motorcycles, and powersports machines. The Hagerty “Shine and Show” streetcar displays at SVRA events is another platform JRi Shocks plans to use as a marketing tool.
JRi Shocks provides shock technology across all Open Wheel and Road Racing Series including F4 US Championship, Formula 1600, Formula 2000, Formula Atlantic, Formula E, Formula Ford, Formula Vee, Hill Climb-Time Attack, Historic and Vintage Racing, Indy Car, Indy Lights, IMSA Championship, NASA, Pirelli World Challenge, Pro Mazda, SCCA, Trans Am, V8 Supercar and World Endurance Challenge. The JRi DW/13 IndyCar Double Adjustable Shock was developed based on Jeff Ryan’s extensive experience and multiple championships in open wheel racing. With JRi’s history, track record of success in all forms of racing, and partnerships with industry leaders such as Riley Technologies LLC, Dragon Racing and Crawford Composites, JRi Shocks offers a winning damper for racers.
Other top-brand companies that have joined the list of SVRA sponsors include Jaguar, Land Rover, Merrill Lynch, NetJets, Sunoco, and Mazda. SVRA’s nationwide platform is at the heart of the organization’s growth strategy. It is combined with the significant participation of legendary professional drivers and leveraging the high net worth demographic in the paddock for sponsorship attraction. This provides three pillars for business expansion. Company officials report consistent annual triple-digit growth since 2012.
