The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) announced today that NetJets, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is now the official private aviation company of America’s premier vintage racing organization. NetJets adds their brand name to the burgeoning list of sponsors joining or stepping up their involvement with the fast-growing road racing series in 2017.

“When I saw NetJets traces it lineage back to U.S. Air Force General Curtis LeMay, the sports car racing visionary who opened the door to airport racing at venues like Sebring, I knew our two companies shared some serious DNA,” said Tony Parella, SVRA president and CEO. “The demographic profile of our car and race team owners combined with the SVRA’s growing and enhanced national platform at the marquee race tracks across America, some of which are difficult to reach via commercial air travel, made NetJets a powerful sponsor for our organization.. Our companies share an appreciation for superior quality, safety, innovation and technology.”

The NetJets partnership is the latest in a string of luxury – as well as premier automotive brands – to see the value of the SVRA’s demographics and the exposure of a national platform. Other top brands partnering with America’s premier vintage racing organization include Jaguar, Land Rover, Zenith Watch and Robert Talbott.

SVRA officials point to the NetJets customer commitment, its “win-win” ethic as what they want to see in partners of their business. They cite as examples NetJets’ focus on safety, worldwide convenience and innovative private air travel solutions that span outright jet ownership through leasing, fractional ownership and even their trademarked Marquis Jet Card® offer that provides access to the NetJets fleet in 25-hour increments.

“We are very pleased to build upon our network of extraordinary sports partnerships,” said Pat Gallagher, executive vice president, Sales & Marketing at NetJets. “Forming a relationship with SVRA in addition to our already established partnerships in golf, tennis, entertainment and luxury travel, allows us to continue to expand our customer reach and provide an exceptional private aviation experience for a new audience.”

The SVRA recently announced an enhanced 15-race event schedule of motorsports festivals for 2017 that includes an expanded relationship with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for two successive weekends of competition and entertainment. The new event at the Brickyard will be the Open Wheel World Challenge, an invitational of some 500 entries for all categories of vintage formula road racing cars. The season-long festival format includes regular collaboration with additional and important racing properties such as Trans Am, Historic Trans Am and International GT as well as Motostalgia car auctions, car shows and music concerts by iconic bands.
