The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association has announced an agreement with Taylor Race Engineering, LLC naming them The Official Driveline Solutions Provider of SVRA.
Taylor Race Engineering was founded in 1975 by then Formula racer Ford Craig Taylor and his wife, Marcie. Craig saw an opportunity to add a business side to his racing activities by utilizing his engineering background and racing ability to learn what racers needed. His successes as a Formula Ford competitor resulted in many fellow competitors seeking him out for assistance with their own cars. Taylor’s first SCCA National Championship in the hotly contested Formula Ford class in 1990, followed by a National Championship in the professional Formula 2000 class one year later, prompted Craig to leave his career in aviation and completely devote his energies to his racing business.
Taylor made the decision to concentrate on race car driveline equipment, so as to be able to offer everything that the racer might need from the crankshaft to the wheel. A service department was also established staffed with skilled mechanics to refurbish transaxles. Taylor Race Engineering subsequently acquired distributorships for Tilton, Quaife, Hewland, Staffs, Jerico, Red Line, GKN, and Lobro driveline components. In addition, a number of proprietary products were developed and manufactured by Taylor such as: clutch release systems, lightweight aluminum differentials, and a number of Quaife differentials specially developed to Taylor Race Engineering specifications.
When Craig and Marcie retired in 2011 the company was purchased by engineers David Kieke, Greg Stevenson and Pavan Dendi. They have since added new employees that have a pure passion for racing, as well as manufacturing facilities located in Austin, Texas, with new products constantly being added to our already existing large inventory.
