Vintage Motorsports Magazine Announces its “Best Of” Awards at the U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship

Vintage Motorsport magazine sponsored five major trophies for participants of the SVRA U.S. Vintage Racing National Championships last weekend at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. A secret panel of motorsport historians and tech inspectors selected no-stories cars with provenance in three categories – Best Pre-War, Best Production Race Car, and Best Open-Wheeler, while fan ballots selected the Fan Favorite and participating drivers voted for Best in Show. The winners are:

Best in Show – 1963 Lotus 27, Nick Grewal, Gilford, NH
Best Pre-War – 1948 Talbot-Lago T26C, Denis Bigioni, Pickering, ONT
Best Production Race Car – 1963 Elva Courier Mk III, Andrew “Bud” Byrnes, Sherman Oaks, CA
Best Open-Wheel Race Car – 1957 Cooper T43, Luca Maciucescu, Santa Fe, NM
Fan Favorite – 1969 Chevron B16, Gray Gregory, Houston, TX
