2017 U.S. Vintage Grand Prix
SVRA’s U.S. Vintage Grand Prix returns to the historic road course located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region of New York. More than 400 vintage and historic race cars will compete in 11 vintage race groups. The race groups showcase many well-known marques, including Lotus, Porsche, Shelby, Alfa, Ferrari, Corvette, MG and Jaguar. Running as a part of this event this year is the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli.
Jaguar will be returning to The Glen with a selection of their new performance cars for entrants, crews and spectators to race on an autocross course set up in the paddock. The motocross course is to be set up by the “Boot” where you can put a new Land Rover through its paces.
There are plenty of unique car activities associated with this event, including: The Watkins Glen Grand Prix Reenactment Tribute race, that follows the original race course thru the street of Watkins Glen; the downtown Grand Prix Festival celebrations with music, fine food and wine; a car show; and SVRA’s optional Driver Orientation/Track Orientation Program (TOP/DOP) for drivers for those who want to learn a few extra “go-fast” secrets of this road race circuit. Watkins Glen is a must-do destination.
