2016 Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational
World-class vintage racing returns for a third time to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for SVRA’s Brickyard Vintage Racing Invitational. Over 500 vintage race cars will take center stage on both the road course and the historic oval during the weekend, offering drivers and the fans the widest variety of motor racing available anywhere. In 2016, the event honors the 100th running of the Indy 500 as well as showcasing a wide variety of racing cars, including those that competed in past Indianapolis 500s, NASCAR, Formula One, Can-Am, SCCA, and Trans-Am events.
The Indy Legends ProAm Charity race returns, pairing 33 veteran Indy 500 drivers with amateur racing partners driving Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs in a 45-minute race on the IMS road course. Since debuting in 2014, the Indy Legends ProAm Charity race has raised over $100,000 for local charities.
The Motostalgia Collector Car Auction takes place Friday and Saturday nights in the pavilion located at the base of the IMS Pagoda. SVRA also hosts the Show and Shine Car Show on the IMS grounds with hundreds of street and performance cars expected. Saturday night’s driver and crew party under the stars includes a live concert by Three Dog Night followed by a spectacular fireworks display to cap the evening festivities. Admission to the dinner is by race credential, and dinner tickets can be purchased for extra crews and guests. The concert and fireworks display are open to all weekend ticket holders at no extra charge.
